Simply me

This is a place for me to collect my thoughts, big as small ones. About my interests - singing and music, books and listening to the radio, family and friends, nature, food and health, corresponding and other activities.
Maybe more interesting to few, and less interesting to many, who knows?

Change of season

Winter's here! Or at least the first snow has come.

Status:

  • In between jobs since last Saturday.
  • Still single.
  • Bored at the moment.
  • Hungry too.
  • And I'm probably thirsty, just that I haven't noticed it yet, just because I know I use to drink too little. (Water that is)
  • Content with having my kitchen cupboard doors exchanged tomorrow.
  • Satisfied with the talk I had with my date, when I told him that we probably shouldn't be seeing each other anymore. He just agreed which was a relief.
  • Feeling a little bit lonely :(
  • By the computer - of course!

Finally!

I got broadband. 100 mb/s, yippee!

Now I don't have to worry about posting photos or other big attachments to the blog or to emails, and I can use the net anytime without blocking the telephone.

I can chat with my friends without worrying for large bills (I paid per minute before). I can post photos on my blog. I can look at videos on websides without having to wait twenty minutes for them. I can receive files from friends on messenger without asking them to make them smaller first. Well, things are so much easier now it seems!

Concerns of first degree

I've got until tomorrow to think about whether I should take that apartment that I saw today or not. There are more things on the negative side than on the positive side but on the other hand the things on the positive side weighs heavier.

I really need to start searching seriously for a job to the autumn. Hm, that has only to do with my own discipline...

At least one burden is off my mind, and it feels reeeeaaally good :)

Tropical heat

is what it is, and it's only the beginning of June. What will it be like later this summer? Cooler, or even warmer? It's days like these that I long for the sea and the coast with its cool winds.

But I shouldn't complain. But I think I do better with cold than with warmth... it's easier to put something on than to take something off, especially when there's nothing to take off!

Metropolitan Museum

The entrance viewed from north.Indoors?

The reason for me to take a photo of this painting is that it reminds me of a place not far from where I live. Also I think it's beautiful.
The big entrance hall.

A mosaic piece of art...
...and a close up.
Flowers by the information desk.
Something Egyptian.

Horrible animals in NY

But I only encountered one that I could take a photo of. I saw more of them, but then I didn't have my camera.

This one was (I vacuumed it up (I saw it while I was working out with vacuum cleaner) so I suppose it's dead now) maybe 4 cm long. Anyone who can tell me what it is?

Shall we have a good time and count the legs? If you start in the rear end, I'll start in the front... "One, two, three, four..."

Weird animals in New York City

The "zoo" of FAO Schwartz.Stuffed turkey gets a new meaning...
Look how sad he is, that he has to leave all his friends.
This is at Macy's. A giraffe...
...and a zebra. They're actually made of real flowers!

Walking from Brooklyn to Manhattan

This was a warm Sunday and many people, both tourists and New Yorkers, took the opportunity to go for a walk over Brooklyn Bridge.

Empire State Building.

Looking towards Brooklyn.

Cars

I saw a lot of fun cars and a lot of fine cars when in New York. This one below I just had to take a photo of.This photo I took for a friend who is a fan of big and cool cars, so he wanted a photo of these two black cars. After I took the photo I saw this funny yellow sign, and that's the reason for me posting it now. I just wonder, where's the swing board?
