Simply me

This is a place for me to collect my thoughts, big as small ones. About my interests - singing and music, books and listening to the radio, family and friends, nature, food and health, corresponding and other activities.
Maybe more interesting to few, and less interesting to many, who knows?

Midsummer

Yesterday was Midsummer's Eve in Sweden, with all that it means. Herring in all sorts, boiled fresh potatoes with crème fraîche and chive, strawberries with whipped cream - me like it! If you also have good company (which I had) it's even more pleasant. Usually I don't go to parties very often, most of the time because I live so far from my friends, but now that I'm in Växjö I had the opportunity to go to a Midsummer Eve's party, and I enjoyed it very much! I'm a social person, more than I admit sometimes, because then it can get to hurtful when there's no friends around and I long to see them. Then it's easier to say, "I like loneliness". Well it's good to spend time with only myself too, but you need a good balance between the two sides.

Summer so far has gone so quickly by, I suppose it feels like that because I work all day. Then time flies. Now time's flied so far that it's already lunch! Mom's calling from the kitchen, saying the food will get cold if I don't get there NOW! So I better go.

I'm alive...

...and working. My days consist of speaking Swedish (mostly), a lot of English, and some German, giving information and advice on tourist attractions in this neighbourhood, selling crafty things, t-shirts, fishing licences, etc.

I like it. A lot. To be of help and meet a lot of different people. I don't think that I could make it with a job in which I won't see any people. And that people come from different cultures and are curious of the Swedish one is great I think. Without curiousity, where would man be today?

Well, I enjoy being in my old hometown, seeing friends that I haven't met in a long time, visiting my family. It's good to be back home.
